JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Analyze product application requests, engineering data, performance reports and application check lists from customers and field sales personnel maintaining expert level product and application knowledge.
- Interface with industry and customers driving all technical aspects of engagement, qualification, and technical product/process assistance post qualification.
- Investigate and detailed analysis of customer issues while working closely with other engineers/departments to offer viable resolution for the problems.
- Formulate conceptual designs for new products to meet industry and customer requirements.
- Develop design criteria for products; include testing methods, production equipment and costs, quality standards and timelines.
- Employ sound and scientific research methodology and formulate mathematical models or other methods of analysis adapting academic methods to industrial environment in order to develop, evaluate or modify the design according to results obtained and customer requirements.
- Design and conduct experimental, operational and life testing on product prototypes.
- Write technical reports and other documentation for use by sales, engineering staff and customers.
- Interface with customers on technical level capacity, traveling domestically and internationally as required up to 25% of time.
- Maintain records and status of customer applications and performance of products for future reference.
- Assist in the development and specification of manufacturing equipment, tooling and process implementing novel solutions for efficiency, productivity, and quality improvement.
- Instrumental in evolving written policies and procedures for effective operation of engineering processes.
- Liaison with customers, consultants and suppliers designing experiments for evaluating performance of new materials.
- Participate in developing training procedures and materials and conduct mentorship and technical training both internally and/or at customer facilities.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related Engineering Degrees
- Minimum of five years proven experience in engineering related fields
- Experience in Bonded Abrasives Manufacturing, Electronics Manufacturing, Electro mechanics Manufacturing, or Automation is a plus
- Capable and competence of traveling both domestically and internationally
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, forming, plating, injection molding, and sintering is a plus
- Knowledge of computer programming and experimenting with Microelectronics/Arduino is a plus
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures to the design and production of abrasives, bonded Superabrasives, equipment, and related products/services.
- Knowledge of physical and chemical characteristics of materials and their interrelationship laws in design and applications.
- Proficient in Mechanical Design, and Computer Aided Design software such as SolidWorks
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical control systems
- Proficient in statistical analysis and statistical software such as Minitab
- Strong analytic skills and scientific approach to problem solving
- Knowledge of machine tools, including their designs and uses
- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
