This position plays a significant role as part of the Rooms and Guest Experience team within Global Operations Services (GOS) driving superior guest experiences and operational excellence by guiding hotel, above property and HQ associates to resources on MGS.  The Manager, Rooms Operations Sustainment, looks for trends in questions and suggests ways to improve program and resource information.. 

 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
 
Education:
  • 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major plus 4 years’ experience in Operations, Technology, Consulting or related professional area.
  • Certification and/or training in quality, process improvement, Six Sigma, project management, etc. is preferred.
Experience:
Required
  • 3+ years of business management experience within the discipline or a related discipline
  • Experience of cross-functional, or matrixed teams
  • Experience in providing customer/client service
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
  • Experience with searching for information in databases and/or web based  intranet resources
  • Knowledge of company, hotel and brand programs.
  • Proven track record of success working in or with fast-paced, consumer focused organizations
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to articulate new concepts clearly and in a compelling way
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment within budgets and timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to assess stakeholder needs, creatively approach solutions, and decide and influence appropriate courses of action
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Viewed as an expert for the program(s) being administered. Monitors compliance and alerts appropriate person(s) of non-compliance.
  • Interacts and works directly with operations questions from Hotel, Above property, HQ and other hourly and management associates.  
  • Answers questions and provides information on where to find information regarding the company, brand, hotel and other programs
  • Independently composes correspondence or documents pertaining to the program(s) being administered.  Many times the correspondence or documents involve unique information pertaining to a specific situation or exception.  Develops alternatives to handle requests when many times the problems are not clearly identified or involve sensitive issues.
  • May also develop and/or maintain a tracking or reporting system pertaining to the program(s) being administered utilizing Excel spreadsheets.
  • Enhance and evolve processes and responsibilities for effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with appropriate Marriott resources on process design, content and effectiveness. Incorporate feedback resulting in continuous improvement.
  • May process data through an automated administrative system.  This may include processing items such as expense reports, accounts payable.  Performs research and follow-up necessary to solve problems encountered.
  • Support delivery of appropriate data and reporting to enable Marriott senior management to meet guest experience goals.
