Production- Shop Assistant - Full-time / Part-time

Qualifications:

Each person assuming the responsibilities of the position must possess the qualities which will enable him/her to safely and in timely fashion perform all of duties listed below. These qualities include but are not limited to: Accurate Reading, Writing, and basic math skills. Safe operation of all equipment including but not limited to Forklift and Overhead Crane. Abilities to listen & follow direction from assigned supervisors and senior personnel (while working with them).

Duties
The individual will be assigned some or all of the duties below depending on individual's skill, talent and training. Your supervisor will assign and describe which are applicable. It is the individual's responsibility to contact their supervision for any clarification if needed.

1. Ability to SAFELY assist other production personnel in the performance of work tasks, or performs other related work which as assigned. Other tasks will include but limited to deburring, grinding, cleaning, sweeping, machine operation (if assigned & trained), forklift and crane operation (if assigned & trained).

2. Proficiency with reading, writing in English and understanding of basic math concepts (ie, addition and subtraction).

3. Must be able to use hand tools and measuring devices.

4. Must be able to move material as required using hand truck and lift up to 50 lbs.

5. Capacity to time manage; ie, stack completed parts properly on blocks or pallets to eliminate double handling.

6. Ability to stay organized and keep working area clean and structured.

7. Demonstrated ability to communicate and understand instructions and safety procedures provided in English.

8. Must be able to inform supervisor if a machine or tool is malfunctioning.

9. Have a proactive, positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability and responsibility. Must be able to work with and get along with other employees.

10. Excellent attendance history.

12. Long term employment desired.

13. Ninety day probationary period.
