About this job

The primary responsibility for this role is to partner with DC management to drive facility performance including productivity, accuracy, capacity, and efficiency. This role manages projects within the Supply Chain Engineering team, both corporate and field based; developing, coordinating, and ensuring on time completion of project schedules, and acting as a key communication link between the corporate and field based engineering teams. The position also plays in a key role in developing engineering talent by managing the onsite Industrial Engineers and leading training and development activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Pursues professional growth and provides developmental opportunities for others by soliciting and acting on performance feedback; building collaborative, cross-functional relationships; hiring, training, and developing talent for growth opportunities; delegating tasks and decisions; fostering open dialogue amongst team members; working closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement.

• Manages designated work stream to meet customer and business needs by translating business plans into tactical action items; communicating goals and objectives; overseeing work assignments; aligning team efforts; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; assuming responsibility for decision making.

• Builds understanding and gains support for approved standards from senior management by communicating changes, answering in depth questions, and addressing larger cultural impacts

• Partners weekly with senior management to keep team apprised of issues and opportunities and to discuss project work and prioritization of engineering efforts.

• Participates in multi-variable standards, including the performance of time studies, regularly scheduled standard validation, best-method development, documentation, and training.

• Communicates change management initiatives to team.

• Ensures appropriate documentation exists for each operation describing methods and procedures, engineering notes, engineering records (such as time study data), standards, and pay variable definitions.

• Ensures accurate reporting is prepared.

• Prepares and communicates cost-benefit analysis and capacity analysis for large projects.

• Executes pilots for DC network initiatives.

• Provides input to budgeting and process improvement at an enterprise level.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field AND 3 years of experience in industrial engineering OR 7 years of experience in industrial engineering

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, and Access

• Demonstrated experience assessing and communicating human and organizational impacts of change

• Demonstrated mentorship experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish

• Demonstrated experience in multi-variable standards, time and motion studies, standards development and implementation, facility layout, and project/capital justification

• Green belt certification

• Demonstrated experience in retail distribution with an emphasis on a performance based culture
