Technical Support Representative

Our client is a locally owned business in Tigard, Oregon that builds and designs a variety of customized RF remote controls and receivers used for commercial applications. Position Summary

The Technical Support Representative is responsible for providing a high level of service and support to both the Company’s customers. The position is essential for the successful coordination between sales and production, engineering and other Company personnel to facilitate customer technical support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Tier 1 support for customer issues
    • System installation and operation support
    • Trouble shooting system issues
  • Coordinate information on status of repair and replacement efforts.
  • Read and comprehend documents including quotations, customer purchase orders, RMA forms, price lists, invoices, packaging lists and shipping and country-specific export documents
  • Manage the RMA process
  • Provide collateral sales material to direct sales personnel or to the customer, as requested
  • Provide Technical Assistance to the manufacturing team on RMA goods
    • Reload system programing to products
    • Provide minor fault identification on failed products
  • Report and discuss with management all customer issues
  • Prioritize customer issues based on “down-time” and need with guidance from management.
  • Develop good knowledge of customers, markets and individual customer needs
  • Regularly communicate with direct sales personnel and customers on order status or in response to inquiries or requests for assistance
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Associate Degree in Electronics
  • Previous experience in inside sales and/or customer service preferred
  • Electronic experience with basic test equipment such as O-Scope, DVMs, function generator and able to read/follow schematics
  • Assembly skills as well as soldering and de-soldering experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and frequently, both verbally and through written communication, with direct sales and other company personnel, including production, engineering and shipping personnel
  • Ability to effectively interpret customers’ requests via telephone and provide clear and concise verbal and written responses in a timely manner
  • Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, and cooperative team member
  • High level of technical aptitude that provides an ability and interest to learn about technical and engineered products
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and situations requiring attention to detail and urgent responses to time-critical inquiries
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, self-directed - needs minimal supervision - and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent computer skills,
Hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm Mon-Fri

Pay: $16.00/hr
