Summary:

Processes orders for material or merchandise received by email, telephone, or fax from customer or company employee by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enters and edits orders received for price and nomenclature.
  • Inform customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
  • Work closely with TSMs for pricing and adjustments.
  • Writes or types order form, or enters data into computer, to determine total cost for customer.
  • Records or files copy of orders received by customer.
  • Check inventory control and notifies stock control departments of orders that would deplete stock.
  • Routes orders to departments for filling and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Processes ship notes for type of packing or labeling needed on order.
  • Receives and checks customer complaints.
  • Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Obtain freight rates and set up LTL shipments
  • Send completed dock receipt for forwarder after container & seal numbers have been added
  • Attempt to sell additional merchandise to customers.
  • Process returns, billing adjustments, and credit requests.
  • Answer phone and direct calls.
  • Scan & send shippers to Acct’s Receivable at end of each day
  • Attach shippers to orders and file each day
  • Knowledge of Database software (M2M preferred); Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three years related experience and/or training.
