The Job

As a Sr. Credit Analyst you will have the opportunity to work with our Ace retailers regarding their credit needs. The analyst is responsible for reviewing retailer application materials including business and personal financial statements, analyzing bank and trade references, and gaining an overall understanding of the business operations. Additionally, the Sr. Credit Analyst will contact retailers to establish repayment arrangements on past due balance and apply credit restrictions as well as assess the potential credit exposure and risk and determine credit limits.

What you'll do

Credit Management: Establish and manage retailer credit exposure and risk profile within corporate guidelines.

Membership Applications: Review membership applications and make appropriate credit decisions to establish a credit limit and risk rating.

Loan Applications: Review loan applications to validate eligibility and to ensure that all documents are included and executed accurately and completely.

Retailer Orders: Review and disposition retailer orders that fail automated credit checks.

Credit Limit Reviews: Make recommendations on credit limits based on the financial condition of the business.

Cross Functional Team Reviews: Coordinate and actively participate in monthly cross functional meetings with Ace Retail Operations Regional Manager by providing status summaries on qualifying retailer accounts, developing meeting materials, preparing supplemental analytics and suggesting alternative solutions such as payment plans or Retailer Assistance Plans.

What you need to succeed
  • Bachelors degree in business (preferably in Finance, Economics or Accounting)
  • Must have strong corporate collection and credit management skills with a minimum of 3 years prior experience
  • Familiarity with business and credit laws
  • Prior experience working with legal contracts
  • Basic understanding of retail store operations
  • Ability to establish trade credit for assigned retailer accounts. Analysis will be based on review of all available sources of credit and financial information including retailer financial statements, credit rating agency reports and payment history.
  • Must be able to read, interpret and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow and proforma data.
  • Proficient with SAP or equivalent ERP system, MS Office Suite (especially Excel and Word), database queries and reporting.
  • Must be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, extremely organized and able to perform with limited supervision in order to work effectively within various deadlines and time constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and negotiation skills
