Job Profile: QC Technician

Key Responsibilities:
? Supports the established Quality Policy
? Fulfills role as required in the documented quality system manual, directives and work instructions
? Audit production quality in extrusion, molding and P&A.
? Measure and analyze products for initial buy-off and required daily measurements.
? Conduct physical product testing including quick burst, flattening, heat reversion, impact.
? Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the QC areas, including those areas designated for testing used on the production floor.
? Maintain proper use and care of test and measuring equipment.
? Understand and demonstrate ability to properly use, read and record data taken by various measuring instruments including micrometer, caliper, PiTape, ruler, tape measure and other gages and indicators necessary for the performance of QC test and analysis.
? Understand and demonstrate ability to visually inspect product for appearance, cleanliness and surface defect including burning, cold slugs, thread mismatch, damage, water leaks, weak bond line, proper trimming of flash and sprue, etc.
? Identifies records and segregates non-conforming product including the timely communication to production supervision of findings.
? Must be able to perform mathematical tasks required to assess, record and report quality analysis including averages and using decimal inch and metric systems.
? Maintain and correctly file QC records.
? Inspect received and returned materials.
? Audit production QC data reports.
? Label products according to status including On Hold, Reject and QC Release.
? Authorized to apply QC release to product where all test and analysis are completed and found in conformance.
? Must follow Company safety rules and Company Policies.
? Provides test and analysis for special projects as needed under direction of the QC Supervisor.
? Prepares data for tooling rework orders and delivers report to the Tooling Manager as well as properly file retained copy in QC.
? Liaisons with production management and supervision in communicating findings. Provides test and analysis as requested by production supervision.
? Must demonstrate ability to understand and apply ASTM standards, blueprint and specification requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:


? Minimum of (1) years Quality Control Experience preferably in plastic piping or similar environment.
? Two years secondary education desired preferably in a Technical discipline.
? Ability to perform required reading, writing and mathematical tasks.
? Experience in the use and care of measuring and test gages and equipment.
