Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful DAI Operations Specialist will have the following skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage time and priorities in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment while being personal and professional
  • A genuine desire and acumen for business process and flows with a resilience to work in a start-up environment, and balance between aggressive short-term deliverables, long-term goals, while staying focused on sustainable operational measures
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a wide audience ranging from individual contributors to Executives in the following areas: C-level Executives, Ad Sales, Programming, Marketing, Operations, I.T., Software Development, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Infrastructure teams
  • Knowledge within the following areas: project management, digital ad campaign operations and lifecycles, digital platforms, people management, software project management techniques, strategic planning, risk and change management 
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive)
  • Experience with FreeWheel and JIRA are a plus
Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of Sling TV DAI Operations with our Programming partners, Media Sales and Engineering teams. DAI is an exciting, growing technology which allows for more targeted advertising capabilities resulting in more efficient advertising. DAI is changing the advertising within the media and pay-tv industry. Many advertisers and Programming partners are beginning to request DAI integration across their linear and Video on Demand (VOD) content to provide better capabilities to monetize advertising. Sling TV is proud to be at the forefront of this industry evolution and are involved in defining the DAI landscape.

 

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing all live and VOD DAI integrations
  • Ensuring all advertising inventory is available to Media Sales
  • Acting as the main point of contact for Programming partners on integrations, troubleshooting, and general questions
  • Managing relationships with external and internal parties
  • Prioritization and coordination of activities with Media Sales and Engineering teams
  • Assisting in testing current and new integrations
  • Creating and presenting reports and status updates to all levels, including Executive leadership
  • Write-up and manage development requirements with the Engineering team for any new DAI features
  • Off-hours availability (minimal) for incident management in the event of customer-impacting emergencies
  • Ensuring teams have a central repository of processes, files, documents, etc. and disseminating information timely, collectively, and comprehensively across the organization and to all key stakeholders
  • Additional responsibilities include managing and overseeing linear and VOD content integrations and launches with Programming partners
