A successful Systems Analyst will have the following:

  • BA/BS in a business or a technical discipline (information systems, engineering, computer science, finance, accounting); and/or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Systems Analysis or similar experience documenting system interactions and functions.  
  • Possess a highly motivated can-do-attitude. Proven track record building strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Experience analyzing complex business problems and synthesizing large data sets to yield actionable recommendations. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.  Strong collaboration and facilitation skills.  
  • Agile or modified Agile experience using tool JSON, Swagger, SOAP UI helpful.

The Systems Analyst is a member of a highly-motivated group responsible for partnering with multiple IT and business teams in order to evaluate and understand complex business problems. This role will be responsible for defining and documenting technical requirements necessary for IT systems development in support of business needs and goals using a modified Agile development methodology. They should have the ability to evaluate and understand complex business problems, their technical implications, and potential solutions. The candidate must bring a strong desire to grow relationships with respective IT and business partners in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and has demonstrated the ability to comprehend complex technical systems.

A Systems Analyst will possess the following competencies:

  • Analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.  
  • Create targeted system analysis documentation for architecture teams and executives. Develop design and interface considerations, data analysis and systems testing. Contains technical skills to understand the potential and limitation of the technology.
  • Elicit, identify, and document technical requirements. Structure business problems into well-defined user stories. Create story maps, sequence diagrams, sample JSON, API Contracts, flow charts, or other technical documentation, as needed to support user stories.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, product managers and team members to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and ensure the technical solution meets the business needs.
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative. Can work with autonomy and as a scrum delivery team member.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of executives, up to and including C-suite, of a Fortune 200 company; identify opportunities for improving existing processes and implementation of changes.
