Shipyard Painters & Helpers

Aerotek of San Diego is looking for energetic individuals that want to work in the San Diego Shipyard.

Candidates must be able to gain Naval Base access by obtaining a DBIDS badge (formerly known as RapidGate), which means candidates must be willing to submit to a background check.

We are currently hiring for full time Painter and helper positions.

Experience working in a shipyard environment is preferred but not necessary for all positions.

Painter Job Description:

• Cleans and prepares wood or metal for painting, removed dirt, rust, and grease from surfaces.
• Masks and tapes area not requiring painting.
• Paints parts, equipment, the interior and exterior of the ships and ship yard buildings.
• Mixing material in accordance to material data sheets.
• Inspects painted areas and performs touch up work as needed and re-checks.
• Assist in sand blasting and sand removal and clean up.

Helper/General Labor Job Description:

• Assist Journeyman in a variety of professions on the shipyard
• Keep work site and location clean of debris
• Assist in small repair
• MUST have experience with hand tools and experience in a construction style environment
