About this job

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will provide technical support for Proof of Concept deployments, initial installations, and final installation acceptance. Additionally, they will support Sales meetings with the Regional Sales Manager. FSE will report to the Director of Field Operations and work within the Field Service team. They will require a technical understanding of the product line to facilitate installation, operational debugging, training of end customer support and installation teams, and communicating with the product team on deficiencies.
Responsible for performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems under limited supervision. Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order.

  • Install, test, operate, maintain, repair, and upgrade equipment within time requirements established by service management.
  • Provide preventative maintenance in accordance with published procedures. Keep performance and maintenance records on the equipment.
  • Provide guidance and training to customer personnel in establishing operation, maintenance, inspection procedures, and techniques.
  • Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Advise and assist in effecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reduce cost of operations.
  • Make travel arrangements daily or weekly basis
  • Be capable of traveling at a moment notice weekday or weekend
  • Carry mechanical and electrical tools from job to job, including laptop and test equipment
  • Discuss objectives with the customer when on-site
  • Develop or follow a schedule for completion of objective while on-site
  • Modify, adjust, or develop application code
  • Mark-up drawings (Red Line) with any updates or changes as required
  • As necessary, FSE will assist with the field training of new employees and may receive in-house assignments covering technical support, training, or documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electronics field preferred
  • Thorough understanding of RF signals to include Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), LoRa, and Lite M (Cat-M1)
  • Experience with mobile networks similar to AT&T, T-Mobile, and regional providers.is a plus.
  • Experience with different IoT devices.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a service-repair field
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Customer service focused with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Independent thinker; strong problem solver; detail oriented
  • 60% travel
  • Willingness to work up to and over 8 hours/day and work > 40 hours/week, weekends and after-hours
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is a huge plus, as they are winning a lot of work in Mexico, South America.
  • Must have Passport, be willing to travel.
