Construction Technician

Job Description:

• Inspecting construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with specifications, plans, and/or proposals.
• Perform required testing of soil, concrete, masonry and asphalt construction materials.
• Notify the Contractor and others of non-conforming and conforming work.

Requirements:

Ability to work outside, construction scheduling (early mornings, up to 60 hours during peak season and not guaranteed hours in off season.)

• Have a minimum high school education or a G.E.D. certificate
• Be able to take orders well.
• Reliability
• Be willing to work odd hours and an occasional weekend
• Show a willingness to make reasonable efforts toward self-improvement by studying technical material provided by the company.
• Comply with the company's drug free program and medical requirements
  

The position requires considerable standing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, and sometimes working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

Will be required to handle objects weighing as much as 60 pounds on a regular basis.

All work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Performance Expectations:

• After training the typical day will start work at 6am at office and inspection work
• Wrap up at 5pm (Projects may require significant overtime outside of standard hours)
• Must be detail oriented and take great notes on site while documenting the construction process.

Will be graded based on accurate detailed documentation .
