Survey CAD Tech - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek is currently seeking a Survey CAD Technician for a client in Richmond, VA.

Survey CAD Technician:

• Performs topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generation
• Perform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for Surveying
• Operate survey equipment including electronic data collectors, levels, electronic total station, GPS and survey vehicles.
• Performs office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC.
• Tracks job progress
• Coordinates information for stakeout service
• Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy
• Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, subdivision platting, ALTA/ACSM surveys
• Performs Courthouse records research
• Performs records request of VDOT, Municipal government entities and utility owners

Qualified candidates will have:

• Extensive knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse adjustments, GPS surveys, and construction stakeouts
• Familiarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting, including Microstation, Open Roads, Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, Carlson & Geopak
• Familiarity with Subsurface Utility Designation, test holes and test hole forms
• Familiarity with Microsoft office suite, utility records and VDOT highway plans
