Job Summary


The Director, Brand Management & Marketing (Westin, Renaissance, Le Meridien) is a key leadership team member within Marriott’s Premium Distinctive Brands with focus on Westin, Renaissance & Le Meridien, reporting to the VP, Brand Management & Marketing – Westin, Renaissance, Le Meridien.  The core responsibilities for this position include: 1) Generate consumer demand through Brand awareness and positioning initiatives 2) Focus on driving business results through Brand and Marketing Campaigns 3) Serve as the brand ambassador to hotels and other key stakeholders in the continents, and support a strong brand and team culture across properties 4) Act as key liaison/resource with hotel and regional teams for all brand related projects 5) champion for brand health and key business needs by brand

    
CANDIDATE PROFILE
    
Education and Experience Preferred
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Brand, Marketing, or related major 
  • 4 years of relevant professional experience in brand, marketing or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance. 
  • Experience in travel, culinary, publishing, retail other lifestyle industry experience is preferred where experience development, talent culture and programming were key elements of the brand expression.
  • Must be able to develop briefs for programs that outline the goals and budgets and KPIs.  Able to plan and execute marketing plans & events, develop & distribute content, and evaluate the program success. Effectively communicate with Field Marketing
  • Represent the brands at times with design, development and ownership groups; must have strong presentation skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Captivate, and the Articulate Platform (preferred) 
    
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
    

Generate Consumer Demand Through Brand Awareness and Positioning Initiatives  

  • Works closely with directors of property marketing on tool kit development for national programs to ensure hotels can activate locally.
  • Develops digital content for major consumer events and plan distribution of content through internal and external digital and social channels.
  • Partners with Public Relations, social and content teams to support brand events to maximize impact and press and social outreach
  • Oversees creative development of marketing assets with Integrated Marketing Team including campaign, B2B, associate facing assets including guiding field marketing, properties and local marketing teams on content developed locally
  • Develops presentations to share with key stakeholders on brand strategy, framework, positioning and results.. 
 

Focus on Driving Business Results through Brand & Marketing Campaigns

  • Works with cross-functional teams to frame up business challenges and develop strategic and tactical plans to drive market share.
  • Connects with Field Marketing.
  • Collaborates with internal partners to research industry best-practices and forward looking trends to identify areas of opportunity for future initiatives 
  • Works with continent marketing teams on offer and package development to meet consumer needs and drive transient revenue.
  • Manages Marketing budget and ensures proper pacing and usage. 
  • Reviews competitive information and develops recommendations.
  • Main POC for Creative Center of Excellence in North America to ensure on-brand execution Support Opening Team with Brand Support (NB&T, openings marketing, FM openings team, L&D)
    • Determine how brand best can integrate into openings process (critical path, etc.) and then serve as that support.
    • Support halo hotel openings to ensure on-brand introduction (opening events and activities) of hotel and brand to the market. Ensure non-halo hotel openings are aware of toolkit (to be refreshed) and of you as a contact info as a resource.
  • Main contact for POC for Brand Support with hotel repositioning workshops as needed.
 

Serve as the Brand Ambassador, Key Liaison for Hotels and other stakeholders, and Support Team Culture

  • Participates in the communication of brand updates, development of brand marketing plans and overall brand strategy to key influencer audiences, including Quarterly GM Webcasts, Annual presentations to B2B / Sales audiences at trade shows, Global and annual Continent Brand meetings, Quarterly GM orientation, marketing manager summit, immersions, etc.
  • Works with Operations Deployment team to manage Brand content on Marriott Global Source as it relates to the Continent (company’s intranet site) 
  • Develops communications for the Brand, such as property correspondence (emails), general brand updates, newsletters, webinars, intranet site material, etc. 
  • Assists in orchestrating the logistics and managing content for Continent Brand conference calls and webinars with Area Vice Presidents, General Managers, Hotel Teams, etc. Collaborate with various teams throughout the organization to ensure brand representation and alignment 
  • Assists in designing training/immersion presentations for various stakeholders throughout organization as well as external partners 
  • Supports the brands in developing content for all any Americas specific Continent brand meetings as conferences
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on brand initiatives (e.g., internal communications, learning and development organization, market services, operations deployment, etc.) 
  • Contributes to an environment of sharing best practices and creative ideas with Brand Team and Continent Teams
  • Works closely with Bethesda based brand team coordinator associates to mentor and train them to ensure career growth 
  • Build relationships with AVPs to drive understanding and support
  • Lead all property-special projects – needs that arise due to hotel being halo, high-exposure, sensitive ownership, etc.
