Job Description

We have an immediate FT opening for a general manager.

POSITION PURPOSE

Manage and promote all operational, selling, merchandising, buying, personnel, hiring, training and e-Commerce aspects for Clothes Mentor, NTY Clothing Exchange and Children's Orchard corporate stores as directed by the VP of Operations. To promote and maintain a high level of customer service and involvement, while continually striving to drive both top line sales and bottom line profitability.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Manage and execute all online sales and presence by focusing on timely implementation, speedy order processing and 100% order accuracy of the stores e-Commerce platform.
  2. While working with Assistant Store Managers, help to convey a consistent brand image that will attract customers and drive online sales. Promote and role model superior customer service to all ASM's, customers and associates, every day.
  3. Maintain consistent communication with the VP of Operations on all relevant business objectives while performing other daily store activities as need by the stores.
  4. Maintain all controllable expenses within established budgetary guidelines. Process all billing, invoices and related documents, to ensure consistency amongst the corporate stores.
  5. Drive sales through the professional implementation of all promotional activities including sale set-up, clearance marking, off-site storage, promotional signage, social media posting, digital advertising and other local store marketing as directed by the VP of Operations.
  6. Prepare each store for Discovery Days and lead in-store training sections of Operations Training by brand.
  7. Establish weekly work schedules and process payroll bi-weekly, as directed by the VP of Operations.
  8. Ensure all inventory functions are completed as directed, including regular inventory counts. Ensure merchandise receiving and ticketing occurs in a timely manner, so that merchandise can be processed to the selling floor for sale and to maintain proper inventory levels.
  9. Establish and maintain all appropriate security procedures including store security and cash handling. Produce weekly management reports and buy reports as directed. Conduct quarterly operations compliance audits.
  10. Assist stores in all day to day buying and selling activities as well as maintaining store opening and closing procedures in the absence of either the Area Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 4-year degree in business preferred.
  2. Minimum 5+ years prior multi-store management and supervisory experience preferably in similar merchandise lines.
  3. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and time management skills critical.
  4. Proven customer service skills, training and strong interpersonal communication skills required.
  5. Must be computer literate and technology process driven.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
  2. Lifting to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  3. Bending, rotating, and reaching conducive to a retail environment and to receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise.

OTHER

  1. This position is a store-based position and Clothes Mentor will be considered your home location.
  2. Work and travel to other corporate stores weekly as necessary.
  3. Conduct regular ASM's meetings.
