Job Description

The Parts/Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the parts and accessories department as well as inventory management and vendor relationships. This position also includes selling marine equipment and supplies all while providing exceptional customer service and overseeing the parts and accessories staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise team of retail sales workers
  • Adjust daily schedule for shift personnel to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Train and evaluate employees
  • Track monthly results and trends for business forecasting
  • Receiving and organizing daily stock
  • Entering new parts/accessories into our software system
  • Stocking and labeling of new items
  • Ordering parts and inventory for new and pre-owned sold boats and for service jobs
  • Obtain the correct parts and accessories for technicians and customers
  • Create and maintain merchandising display to promote product sales
  • Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns
  • Maintain the parts department in a clean and orderly manner
  • Notify customers for order pick up after special order parts have been received
  • Act as a liaison between the parts department and other company operations
  • Negotiate competitive pricing with vendors and manufacturers when necessary
  • Coordinate and execute a physical inventory once a year
  • Continually monitor inventory and stock levels within the store
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in retail, customer service
  • Previous experience in an auto or marine dealership a plus
  • Mechanical ability and the ability to learn new products in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Experience operating a forklift and/or tractor a plus
  • Some heavy lifting required
  • Must be available for overtime in the spring and summer months as well as Saturdays
