Kum & Go is seeking a Data Warehouse Developer, who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining all aspects of the company’s retail data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet complex business analysis and reporting needs. This includes leveraging advanced technologies to transform large, complex, unstructured data into actionable insights for our organization. This senior member of the data warehouse development team will also be seen as a mentor and reviewer of code developed by other junior team members.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and support new and current ETL processes, employing industry standards and best practices to enhance loading of data from and into different sources/target systems.
  • Work with architects and business partners to fashion out the technical vision for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Analytical Data Marts, and other data repositories by employing SSIS, SSRS, SQL server, and other big data technologies as required.
  • Provide support to the organization’s business requirements in the application and consumption of information from the Enterprise Data Warehouse or from other suitable source systems.
  • Leverage Continuous Delivery practices to integrate source control and automate builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Mentor junior team members on data warehouse technologies, architecture, and standards.
  • Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships between end-users and the IT department. Ensure the appropriate people are informed of actions and progress made relative to solution development milestones.
  • Partner with the Business Insights and Analytics team and DBA in the development of data types, structures, and dictionaries, while assisting business users (internal or external to IT) in their database needs, helping the groups to understand the data types and structures contained within the various data repositories.
  • Work with IT management to develop short- and long-term strategic plans for Kum & Go’s data analytics architecture.
  • Lead medium to large projects, ensuring project requirements and timeline are met.

Other key requirements

  • A minimum of 6-8+ years of progressively responsible data warehouse development experience
  • A minimum of 6+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft SQL Server 2014+ experience is preferred
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or Information Systems OR
  • An Associate’s Degree with 8-10+ years of applicable experience
