About this job

The HRM is responsible for developing the human capital necessary to support the achievement of the financial, compliance, and strategic goals of their respective store location, positively contributing to the long-term success of the market, region, and company.

The HRM also anticipates and addresses talent needs through strategic recruiting, staffing, and training. An individual in this position must also motivate and retain existing talent by anticipating and responding to human resource issues as they arise. The HRM is additionally responsible for developing the leadership skills of Department Managers and Assistant Store Managers and actively coaching the entire store management team. In order to accomplish this, the HRM must have a broad knowledge of human resource legal requirements, trends, and practices and be well aware of their impact on the management and operation of the business.

The HRM partners with the Store Manager, studying market trends, and developing short and long-term plans for driving employee engagement and retention in the store. The HRM is expected to model effective communication and leadership in the store, while consistently applying Lowe s policies, management practices, and legal requirements.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Communication, a related field OR 3+ years of experience in Human Resources as a generalist, specialist, or manager in lieu of degree.

Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (certain preferences may be given for special language skills when there is a business need).

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

18 years of age or older.

Submit to background check.

Submit to a pre-employment drug test administered by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or equivalent.

2 years of experience working with management teams in a Human Resources leadership role.

1 year of experience with specific Human Resources software programs, e.g., PeopleSoft HR, Kronos, and Kenexa.

3 years of experience in retail management influencing business leaders.

Experience with Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook.
