Alterations Specialist, Full Time: Bloomingdale's King of Prussia, PA - Full-time / Part-time

Overview:

Bloomingdales is seeking an experienced alterations expert to join our store.
As a Bloomingdale's Alterations associate, you will help the customer look great and feel wonderful about his or her new purchase. Fitting the garment to the customer is the final step in closing the sale, so alterations play a key role in our business. You will be responsible for working on both men's and women's garments including suits and evening wear.

Essential Functions:

• Marking garmets correctly; ability to follow makings done by others.
• Using all alterations equipment (pressers, sewing machines, etc.) appropriately and safely.
• Working rapidly and accurately.
• Following department safety rules.
• Knowing which garments can/cannot be altered and understanding different fabrics/styling.
• Presenting a pleasant and positive attitude to the customers

Skills Summary:

• Experience in high-end men's and women's apparel essential
• Capability to work with leather, beading or other special fabrics
• Full knowledge of the complete alterations process is required by hand sewing and sewing machine
• Must be able to work nights and weekends
