As the Construction Project Manager for Schwan’s Company you will be responsible for managing construction projects which include identifying the scope of the project, soliciting & awarding bids, establishing project timelines, and executing the project for facilities across the US.

  • Responsible for complete construction project management to ensure project is completed according to scope, building codes, timelines, and budget.
  • Completes site visits to identify project needs and scope of projects. Provides construction project budget in preparation of the capital expenditure and performs periodic project inspections and final inspections to verify scope, compliance, construction quality, and schedule.
  • Identifies and manages architects, engineers, and qualified contractors for construction project work. Manages the bid process for construction projects assigned.
  • Develops building maintenance bulletins for field management to follow to ensure proper maintenance of the facility.
  • Develops site plans & building plans using drawing software for construction projects or submittals to architects.
  • Inspects and recommends bare land sites and buildings for potential purchase.
  • Provides construction and maintenance guidance to field managers.
  • Identifies and recommends national / regional providers for construction services and construction materials to improve quality and/or reduce cost. Responsible for cost reduction projects which could include electrical energy reduction and sourcing products and services from National Suppliers Responsible to coordinate repair or replace decisions with local facility management

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Years of Related Experience: Typically has 5-7 years related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Word Excel etc Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with numeric data analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of company and group products, policies, processes, etc.
  • Professional understanding of Architectural Engineering and Construction processes within the industrial sector.
  • A general understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing and mechanical refrigeration systems/concepts.
  • Understanding of all applicable model building codes and a general understanding of industry regulatory requirements including but not limited to: USDA, OSHA, and the EPA.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and successfully leverage organizational resources.
  • Problem solving skills to reflect level of responsibilities. Ability to research issues as they arise and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Able to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams.
  • Travel is required.
