Waukesha County customer needs a Test Engineer for a one (1) year contract.

 

Overview:

The Test Engineer supports the product testing needs of the Product Development and Sustaining Engineering teams. This position is involved in verification and validation testing of a full product line throughout the product life cycle.

 

Responsibilities:

         Work with engineers and lab technicians to ensure that development projects meet design specifications and reliability standards across multiple product lines through the creation, execution, and maintenance of test plans.

         Develop and maintain test templates, test equipment, and lab facilities to create professional testing standards, processes, and procedures.

         Design, build, and maintain test fixtures in order to evaluate products in the lab. Typical testing includes static load, dynamic load, environmental, functional, and life cycle testing for electro-mechanical products.

         Support company compliance to relevant regulatory codes and standards using third party NRTL (Nationally Recognized Test Laboratories).

         Work with sustaining engineers to troubleshoot designs, installations, and production issues in order to detect, document, and resolve failures in a timely manner.

Write test reports that conform to a prescribed style and format.

 

Education and Experience:

         BS Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

         Minimum 2-5 years experience within a manufacturing environment is required

         Experience testing products for commercial, appliance, automotive, or medical markets

         3D modeling experience using SolidWorks or other applicable CAD program is desired

 

Skills and Abilities:

         Read, analyze, and interpret a variety of information, such as technical procedures, business correspondence, and governmental regulations furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

         Create business-level written correspondence and verbally present information to internal and external customers

         Requires job related software skills, MS Office and the ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment

         Proficiency using meters, strain gauges, oscilloscopes, and other data acquisition and analysis equipment

         Familiarity with LabVIEW, PLC programming, pneumatics, and test automation

         Able to fabricate and assemble prototypes, solder, and build wire harnesses

 

 

Based on experience, this position pays $33 38/hr.  This position may go direct once the contract has been completed.
