Reservation Agent

Hotel Overview: The Fairmont Olympic is considered Seattle's most celebrated treasure, and a premier luxury hotel. Since opening in 1924, The Olympic has been the region's destination for prominent civic and social events, as well as honeymoons, birthday celebrations and in-city getaways.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Reservations Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

* Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

* Book and enter room reservation requests using the Central Reservation System

* Update and detail reservations ensuring a flawless check in and check out process

* Ensure revenue is maximized by up-selling guest rooms and recommending hotel facilities

* Liaise with Global Reservations, Sales, Front Office, Royal Service and other departments as required

* Answer telephone and email inquiries in a timely, professional and personalized manner

* Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way

* Follow department policies, procedures and service standards

* Follow all safety policies

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Previous customer related experience required

* Previous Property Manager System and/or Central Reservations System experience an asset

* Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required; i.e. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel

* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

* Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task without sacrificing service

* Highly responsible & reliable

* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

* Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

* Frequent sitting throughout shift

* Occasional pulling, pushing, lifting, walking and standing

* Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements: Must be able to provide or obtain authorization to work in the United States.
