Join our team of experts who use the most advance technologies and scientific methods with the purpose of improving lives every day. Our ideal Polymer Scientist - Sustainable Packaging will:

* Provides subject matter expertise in sustainable packaging including plastics recycling, recycled content use in beverage packaging and design for recycling principles

* Provides subject matter expertise in plastic materials including synthesis, renewable materials and structure property relationships

* Participates in external research consortia and trade associations

* Provides technical expertise in life cycle assessment of materials and packaging

* Provides technical expertise in sustainable package development

* Provides technical expertise in shelf life extension technologies

* Provides technical expertise in stretch blow molding technology

* Surveys both industry and academia for the scouting of new technologies

* Conducts patent and technical literature reviews

* Independently plans and executes research and new technology development

* Designs, manages and executes technically sound and thorough experiments

* Participates in the creation of a business case

* Partners with peers in Research, Strategic Supply and Legal

* Drives new technology development programs, including the management of assigned budgets, timelines and internal / external support resources

* Partners with development teams to support commercialization

* Creates New Invention Disclosures and Patent Applications

Qualifications/Requirements

* Education & Experience:

* Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Environmental Science or Materials Science

* Minimum of three years of experience in packaging/materials R&D

* Five to eight years experience in packaging/materials R&D preferred

* Proven track record of successful innovative packaging solutions

* Experience with a broad range of packaging technologies including key manufacturing process for beverage packaging

* Critical Competencies:

* Teamwork

* Effective Communication & Influencing Skills

* Project Management

* Travel estimated at approximately 25%
