Our client is a global private equity investment firm with approximately $44 billion in assets under management and more than 120 companies in its portfolio. The firm is an active investor in its portfolio companies, which are both publicly and privately held. The firm has approximately 450 employees operating from offices worldwide.

The Legal Assistant's responsibilities will focus on assisting the firm's legal staff in administrative, regulatory and legal matters, generally. The firm's legal and administrative functions include: (i) public reporting and regulatory compliance, (ii) fund and entity formation, (iii) entity management and corporate governance, (iv) assisting in timely SEC filings such as Schedule 13Ds and 13Gs and Section 16 Filings (Forms 3 and 4), (v) compiling firm and portfolio company information for regulatory filings and for U.S. Hart-Scott-Rodino and foreign anti-trust analysis and filings, and (vi) performing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Know-Your-Client (KYC) reviews with respect to its investors and entities.

The position will interface with legal, compliance and accounting professionals, generally, and involve substantial liaising with outside counsel. The ideal candidate will have a corporate finance or regulatory background and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a paralegal role at a large corporate law firm. Additional experience at a financial services firm would be considered a plus. The candidate will also have a record of executing their responsibilities in a confidential, trustworthy manner and demonstrate effective written and oral communication and attention to detail.
