ZIPS Dry Cleaners is currently hiring pressers. Below is a list of responsibilities and daily tasks:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a customer-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.

  • Recruits, develops all staff and assesses performance on a regular basis.

  • Analyzes and measures business trends through the analysis of sales reports; develops and implements plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.  Controls expenses and payroll.

  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.

  • Plans and assigns daily goals, tasks and assignments.  Assures proper completion of these through follow-up.

  • Ensures adherence to all Company policies and procedures through regular staff meetings, store walk-throughs and audits, etc.  Participates in development of policies and procedures as requested.

  • Undertakes all office tasks including management of funds and media, receiving, inventory and employment actions and payroll.

  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: To perform in this assignment successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Associates degree in Business or related field (Bachelor’s preferred or equivalent industry experience) and minimum of 3 years’ related experience, with 2 years of supervisory experience in a dry cleaning, retail and/or food service environment required.  Experience with franchise system preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking capability preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

1.  Ability to process information and merchandise through the store’s computer and POS register systems.

2.  Skill in communicating with management, associates and customers.

3.  Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.

4.  Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling and register floor, stock area, and operations areas (laundry and dry cleaning).

5.  Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store and effectively train others.

6.  Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.

 

Working Conditions (ADA/OSHA Reqs): This position exposes the employee to:

1. Standing for long periods of time.  Approximately 80% of time is spent standing up.

2.   Heat when monitoring staff and equipment in the laundry and dry cleaning areas.

3.  Varied schedules:  hours/days to oversee store operations.

 

Compensation: Negotiable based on experience
