POSITION SUMMARY:

The Part-Time Merchandiser is responsible for calling on independent and chain stores within a specific area to increase sales and distribution. They ensure that Tampico products adhere to merchandising and customer service standards. The merchandiser also increases distribution on all packages within current account base and potential new customers. This position reports to the West Region Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Increase distribution within the store, POS placement, and build displays

· Ensure each account is meeting Tampico Retail Standards

· Communicate account activities with store level management

• Sell in entire Tampico portfolio including additional flavors & alternative packs

  Sell in National, Regional, and Local promotional programs

  Maintain and utilize proper Tampico POS inventory levels and company assets

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ year(s) of CPG sales and/or merchandising experience a plus

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Valid driver's license and good driving record within Tampico policy guidelines

• Bilingual – English / Spanish

• Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

• Ability to multitask and be flexible

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability to communicate with multiple groups – peers, company personal, and retail personal

  Able to work in various working conditions, cold climate (coolers / walk in / reach in coolers) and warm / hot climate (special outdoor events and grand openings)

  Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  Merchandiser must be prepared to drive, travel, and engage in considerable physical activity

  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  Must reside in Long Beach, California
