Trailer Maintenance Shift Supervisor

We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to lead technicians in maintaining and troubleshooting our equipment at our Milan, IN facility. Our equipment is late model Kenworth, Volvo and Freightliner tractors, the majority with Cummins powerplants. Candidate will hold responsibility for the trailer side of the facility but will need knowledge of Tractor units.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Hire, evaluate and develop technicians.
• Train, Maintain and Audit all DOT required maintenance files
• Supervise and manage a staff responsible for duties including orientation, tractor maintenance, trailer maintenance, breakdowns and parts department
• Warranty repair recovery for all equipment.
• Supervise, manage and train staff of 20+ mechanics and administrative staff
• Travel requirement of 10%
• Be familiar and able to proficiently do cost accounting.
• Maintain OSHA compliance

Qualifications:

• Experience with 200+ truck fleet and 800 van trailers
• Continuous education of Class 8 truck maintenance programs
• ASE or similar certifications a plus but not required
• Thorough knowledge of D.O.T. requirements
• Computer literate/ knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software
• Must have excellent employee relations skills
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to adapt to change
• Must have strong problem-solving abilities
