DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is actively seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Round Rock or San AntonioTX office. This position will work on complex bridge projects and develop innovative practical solutions to various structural design challenges. In this role you will lead, manage, and perform design and analysis as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems and components.

· Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations

· Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans using a variety of industry standard software packages.

· Assist and check design calculations performed by others

· Prepare geometric/bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.

· Perform bridge condition inspections and inspection reports.

· Develop, establish and maintain relationships with our employees, clients, and other industry related organizations and stakeholders.

· Oversee and train other structural engineering staff with less experience.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· At least 10 plus years of experience in structural engineering

· A B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering. If you have an advanced engineering degree, that’s even better.

· Excellent external and internal, oral and written communication skills.

· Proficiency with MS Office Suite, industry standard bridge design and analysis software and MicroStation and AutoCAD experience.

· Familiar with structural design software and experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge design specifications.

· Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Texas or ability to obtain in six (6) months
