Cook / Dietary Aide

We are a community-based care facility delivering the highest level of care by people you know and trust. We are currently seeking a Relief Cook/Aide to join our team at Vancrest of Holgate. The primary purpose of the Relief Cook/Aide position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Director of Food Service to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

The job responsibilities of the Relief Cook/Aide include:

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readly available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc., as necessary.
• Reviewing complaints and grievances to make necessary oral/written reports to the Director of Food Services within three (3) work days.
