Summary

Performs cashiering and hosting functions and must possess the necessary organizational skills for customer wait lists and seat assignment. Duties must be performed quickly and accurately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Safeguards casino assets.

An understanding of the customer wait list and the necessity of efficiently processing the buy-in and seat assignment.

The ability to foresee situations regarding breaking or starting games and keeping the Supervisor informed.

The ability to understand situations requiring a shill and to take effective action.

Effectively and efficiently handling all requests for set-ups, ashtrays, and fills required in the games.

Must be aware of all the types of games in action and seating situations.

Knowledge of all games is essential in order to offer a full explanation to prospective players of how the games are played, the limits, buy-ins, and blinds, etc.

Smile, make eye contact and greet customers.

Must anticipate and be responsive to every customer need.

Problems or disputes are to be relayed to and handled by the Card Room Supervisor.

Must be accurate in processing the buy-in and cash out transactions by customers, which results in the Card Room Cage Bank balancing.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience and/or Education

Must have a knowledge of all poker games offered. Must have at least 1 year cash handling experience.

Age Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasionally or no variables.
