Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a key component of the casino entertainment, this position is responsible for providing an entertaining and exciting experience for the guests. As a performer, the Costumed Beverage Server is expected to be “on-stage” during their scheduled shift and must provide the guest with an environment that is fast, fun, and friendly. Incorporating a stage persona while serving guests drinks for extended periods of time is a requirement of the position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and ensures a fun filled, entertaining and exciting environment
  • Greets and provides our guests with fast, fun, friendly, focused service, while taking orders and serving drinks
  • Incorporating a stage personality while serving guests drinks for extended periods of time
  • Ensures guest satisfaction, drink quality, and cleanliness
  • Has knowledge of common drinks being served, ingredients, and prices
  • Answer questions about drinks, making recommendations upon request
  • Take drink orders and serve drinks to guests
  • Explain how various drinks are prepared, describing ingredients and mixing methods
  • Inform guests of daily drink specials
  • Check guest’s identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Wrist band all guests consuming alcoholic beverages.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests
  • Write guests drink order on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to bar staff
  • Remove glasses or drink containers from bar, gaming areas, or entertainment venue and take them to the station for cleaning or disposal
  • Clean bars, gaming areas, counters, etc.
  • Present bills, accept payments, operate cash register
  • Prepare cash receipts after establishments close, and make bank deposits
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom, etc.)
  • Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance, and/or safety
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

NOTE: These include, but are not limited to the following (additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary):
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
  • Uniforms and/or clothing should always be “on stage clean”
  • Create and support an environment of “Teamwork” by helping a fellow employee or guest, without a second thought
  • Superior attendance and punctuality
  • Attendance in mandatory meetings, training, workshops, and/or seminars
  • Adhere to organization policies and procedures
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience desired
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Employee appearance is a bona fide occupational qualification necessary to ensure that employees maintain the entertainment theme of the casino. Uniforms will consist of a costume and employees are required to conform to an appearance that is conducive to that costume. Employees must maintain the physical appearance necessary for the desired theme. This requirement will be strictly enforced and apply to males and females equally.
  • Incorporating a stage personality while serving guests drinks for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services; this includes guest needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving guests in restaurant/bar/casino and receiving guests
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters
  • Ability to read, write, and understand orders
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Ability to handle cash, give change, and balance receipts at end of shift
  • Excellent organization and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of InfoGenesis software
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Standing and walking during entire shift covering large areas
  • Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, carries and pushes
  • Lifts and carries supplies, tubs, and cases, weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Essential hand/eye coordination
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior restaurant/bar/casino work environment
  • Noise level is moderate to high
  • Moderate or high exposure to cigarette smoke
  • Limited exposure to physical risk
  • Moderate physical effort required
