About this job
Working on a small team within the security division of our Client and we create and maintain the web presence for the security division. Our team is passionate about writing finely crafted, well maintained websites because our sites bring in well over a half a million requests daily. Because of this, the candidate we seek must be someone who is passionate about writing good, clean code that can be well maintained.
DAY-TO-DAY
*Work on an agile, small team to develop and release production level code quickly and efficiently.
*Create a Full-Stack Ruby application from conception to deployment.
*Identify new methodologies, tools, and services to help enhance the software platform
*Write and maintain complex, critical software
*Deliver high quality, unit testable, maintainable software
IDEAL REQUIREMENTS
*BS in Computer Science or related field
*7+ years Development experience with at least 3-4 years being Ruby on Rails
*Knowledge of Relational databases: MySQL and/or postgres
*Familiarity with at least one major Javascript library for example: Jquery, ember, angular.
*Able to write Unit tests for software written in Ruby and Javascript
*Able to negotiate for solutions to solve software problems
*Familiar with Heroku Deployment
*Must be self motivated
*Familiar with Git and Pull request/Peer Review process
Bonus points for:
*Expereince in UI design.
*Expereince with front end frameworks like React ember or angular
*Used Capistrano gem
*Ability to do your own devops
