Aerotek is seeking 60 plus General Labor/Firewatch personnel to support various skilled tradesmen including Welders, Pipefitters, Shipfitters, and electricians on board the USS Nimitz.
Requirements:
- Previous shipyard experience OR Military background
- Willingness to submit to drug and background screening
- Willingness to attend required classes necessary for obtaining OSHA 10 Maritime, firewatch AND respiratory fit certifications (unless already in possession of)
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and be on feet for extended periods of time
- Willingness to work 60+ hours per week
- Must be able to provide certified copy of U.S. Birth Certificate or U.S. Passport
- Possess steel toed boots
- Willing to wear provided PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator)
Job Description:
Assists in layouts, cable pulling, demo, etc. May be asked to firewatch for welders or assist additional tradesman with whatever task is currently being performed.
Shifts:
Monday-Saturday
Day 5am/6am-3:30pm/4:00pm (approximately)
Swing 2:30pm-1am (approximately)
Pay:
$14-$16/hr. Depending on contract, company, vessel, etc.
Additional: General Labor/Firewatch contracts can range from trades helper positions to 100% firewatch depending on circumstances.
