Envorinmental Coordinator / Dispatcher:

Job description:

  • Direct supervision & support of personnel assigned to Dispatch, Equipment/Fleet Maintenance and Yard/Warehouse Operations
  • Manages resources distribution, including equipment & personnel to meet project needs and maintain availability levels.
  • Establishes priority schedule to complete assigned tasks, working with Operations & Project Managers to ensure adequate coverage
  • Oversees day to day operations of the office; including assigning and scheduling work of team members
  • Provide support to field operations, as needed
  • Ensures proper training of personnel to include safety standards, policies & procedures
  • Continues to manage in-place client relationships, assist in growing these accounts & resolve customer issues
  • Responsible for employee development of direct reports, including development of employees through training, corrective action, performance improvement plans, feedback, performance review and policy enforcement
  • Ensures compliance with company, divisional, OSHA & DOT procedures.
  • Advocates a safety culture in the field of operations
  • Immediately report injuries & incidents to appropriate parties, assisting with the enforcement of safety practices & policies
  • Work with operations, accounting and payroll departments to assist with the review & processing of project paperwork & verification of employee payroll
  • Works in conjunction with others to ensure timely submittal of project paperwork to alleviate conflicts arising from Operations not meeting Accounting, Payroll & Billing deadlines
  • Track & fill requests made by Clients, as well as internal departments and/or other offices
  • Maintain security of equipment in the yard and work with other members of management & supervisory teams to avoid/eliminate the misuse or abuse of company equipment
  • Actively assists in management of team member performance; potentially hires and terminates technicians/drivers
  • Participates in quality control efforts to ensure client expectations are met
  • Occasionally visits job sites and customers to evaluate project progress/performance
  • Leads some projects directly if nature of work requires direct involvement
  • Respond to hazardous material incidents and/or after hour emergency response spills, as needed
  • Coordinate with Compliance, HR and Health & Safety to ensure drivers are DOT compliant, including the maintenance of Driver Qualification files and assist in DOT audits
  • Must lead by EXAMPLE using strong communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of management, personnel and clients/vendors/etc.
  • Respond to ALL communications in a prompt manner
