Immediate Hire for a Mechanical Designer in Kokomo, Indiana!
Job Description:
This AutoCAD designer will be given a concept and/or blueprint to create a design from scratch. Will create custom designs for unique applications. Will work off previous drawings but will make modifications for each project per the customer requirements. Will follow all projects from start to finish, ensuring designs are manufactured, assembled, and at times installed correctly. Will visit customer sites to talk through solutions, troubleshoot design/assembly issues, and see projects through. Will spend 85% of their time in CAD and other 15% on floor each day walking around to see if they can help with projects.
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of Mechanical Design experience within AutoCAD (Autodesk Inventor is also preferred). Must be proficient with Design for Manufacturing: Making modifications and creating from scratch
- Strong mechanical aptitude: shafts, bearings, speeds, gears, assemblies
- Willingness to roll up sleeves and dis-assemble, tear down, or help assemble on the floor when issues arise
