Grinder

Premier company in southeast Portland is looking to hire for multiple grinding opportunities.

In this position you will be grinding and blending gating and defect areas on castings, and provide surface finishing within dimensional tolerances. To remove the minimum amount of metal necessary to remain within specified tolerances. This position will ultimately lead to a career in welding that they will train and certify you on.

- Reviews tech cards and blueprints to determine grinding requirements
- Determine stock removal requirements and tolerances for removal of gate material or other added metal stock
- Determine acceptance limits for grinding and blending defects
Use counter-balanced belt grinders, fixed grinders, hand-held grinders, air tools, and hand tools including files and mirrors
- Visually inspect parts during grinding operation to assure compliance with vendor specifications
- Make dimensional measurements on specified parts
- Perform minor maintenance and change belts on equipment
- Maintain written logs/records
- Specific experience is preferred. However, they will look at anyone that presents good work history. Some of the past job experiences that have done well in this position.
