About this job

The Senior Mechanic will perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment. The Senior Mechanic is responsible for service documentation, training of lower level technicians, demonstration of equipment for customer use, when necessary is able to accurately order needed parts from vendors and occasional travel to customer site.

SENIOR MECHANIC REQUIRED COMPETENCIES - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Highly developed mechanical background with various construction or heavy machinery, specifically repairing hydraulics, electric systems, and diesel engines (Tier 4)
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Own tools required to perform job
  • Exhibit strong teamwork, written and verbal communications skills

SENIOR MECHANIC ESSENTIAL AND NON-ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work out of the shop on equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Conduct equipment functionality, use, and safety tests
  • Training of mechanics as needed
  • Utilization of computer applications and programs

SENIOR MECHANIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of one year of experience repairing and maintaining construction equipment.
  • Aerial, hydraulic, and Tier 4 engine experience highly preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic knowledge and use of office equipment and computer skills

SENIOR MECHANIC WORKING CONDITION/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work environment is consistent with that of construction equipment yard and repair shop
  • Safety training and PPE is required
  • Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping

Pay will be based on experience.
