About this job

Immediate, Direct Hire, positions for 2 Controls Technicians, 1 each on 2nd and 3rd shift. Located south of Fort Wayne, in the Berne/Geneva, IN area.

Positions are open due to planned retirements - they also have new equipment installations taking place for their busy season that begins in August.

Responsibilities will include making program adjustments to PLC's (Allen Bradley) as well as determining root case of issues after diagnosis through ladder logic. Troubleshooting motors, motor controls, VFD's, processors, sensors, and temperature controls will also be a regular occurrence. Roughly 75% of time will be spent on electrical work, 25% on mechanical. 50/50 distribution of PM's and reactive maintenance, with a considerable amount of time spent rebuilding and improving equipment for busy season.

Must Have Skills:

  • 5-10 years of industrial maintenance electrician experience
  • Experience performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; including 480 V electrical, replacing motors, motor relays, sensors, servo drives, and VFDs, gears, repacks for robots, and machine tear downs
  • PLC troubleshooting and editing ability
  • Blueprint/schematic reading

Preferred / Would Be Nice:

  • Technical expertise - SLC 500/5000, Control Logix, Micro Logix, RS Logix 500/5000
  • Experience troubleshooting robotics, specifically ABB
