About this job

Immediate need to hire an Engineering Assistant to join our growing Engineering team! This position provides essential project management, administrative, clerical and specialty support services for the Engineering team to facilitate the optimization of the project management work flow process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain item master database, bill of materials, and routings
  • Prepare bill of materials for new products
  • Coordinate drawing, bills of material, routing and turret program releases for new projects and communicate with appropriate departments
  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and distribute as needed; ensure routings, bill of materials, drawings and turret programs are updated properly
  • Oversee engineering document control by maintaining electronic drawing files (drawings, PDF files, set-up sheets, master documents for sheet metal kits, etc.)
  • Maintain the Project Information Form (PIF) by assigning tasks, communicating essential information, coordinating efforts, and tracking open issues and action items.
  • Create or update Engineering, Quality or Lean documentation (process instructions, procedures, elements of work, etc.) as requested
  • Serve as point of contact for quality incidents by coordinating with Engineers to provide ECNs, EPAs (Engineering Part Approval) or other documentation back to Quality, Purchasing or Manufacturing

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Must be PC literate and proficient in the use of document, spreadsheet and email applications
  • Possess general knowledge of a mainframe computer system
  • Knowledge of AS/400 applications would be a plus
  • Strong organizational and planning skills required
  • Be able to read blueprints
  • Mechanical aptitude
