One of our clients are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to assist with their operations located in Islandia, NY on the afternoon shift. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely repairs. On a day to day basis, this candidate will be responsible for the following:
Mechanical troubleshooting: Pneumatic switches, valves, and cylinders
Diagnose and repair gear box, bearing, and conveyor systems problems
Must possess troubleshooting abilities in electrical and general building electrical systems
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all production equipment in assigned area under the guidance of higher-level production mechanics
Maintain open and accurate communication with other maintenance employees
Complete all assigned work orders completely and accurately document work that was completed
Provide all information necessary to maintain proper parts inventories
Qualifications:
Candidates must be open to working at least 1 weekend day and open to afternoon hours
4-5 years Maintenance Mechanic experience within a Manufacturing environment
Basic Electrical Theory
Experience with gearbox, pumps, pneumatic, hydraulics
Experience with packaging machines and conveyor systems
