About this job

The Claim Adjuster position will be accountable for investigating, analyzing and adjusting automobile claims to determine if coverage attaches to a risk and if payment is warranted. The work of the Claims Adjuster is to investigate property damage & bodily injury claims against the automobile insurance as well as pursuing subrogation recoveries due to the Company.

The position will ensure that all work completed complies with state statutes and agency vendor contracts. Additionally, this position will work with limited supervision and exercise considerable independent judgment. The position may also include liability loss prevention functions. The position will be held accountable to ensure the claim file is maintained in an organized manner and contain all relevant details to appropriately adjust the claim.

Responsibilities:
��� Researching and analyzing information gathered through investigation and premising decisions/ recommendations on said information.
��� Excellent judgment and decision making skills to ensure claims are resolved in the best interest of the Company.
��� Ability to conduct investigations in multi-party situations.
��� Ability to combine pieces of information to form conclusions necessary to determine coverage, evaluate liability and evaluate damage exposures to ensure that claims are paid in a fair and equitable manner.
��� Negotiating claim settlements and recommending litigation whenever there is no opportunity for settlement.
��� Collecting evidence needed to support contested claims in court.
��� Interviewing agents and claimants in order to correct errors and investigating questionable claims.
��� Deciding on how much money will be paid out to the policyholder or claimant in damages
��� COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This person needs to be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.
��� INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: They need the required skills to establish and maintain the relationship with the business clients.
��� FIELD KNOWLEDGE: The candidate needs to have the required field knowledge of the sector as well as adequate knowledge about laws pertaining to insurance.
��� RESPONSIBLE: This person needs to be very responsible and have the ability to put a keen eye to the details. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
