About this job

Overview:
The Patient Account Representative - Re-Verifications/Authorizations, provides administrative support to the daily operations within the assigned function(s).

- Verify and reports general patient information in the facilitation of billing and collections activities
- Review patient accounts and re-verify insurances if changes have taken place or patient demographics have changed
- Verify insurances online and also over the phone. (90% of their day is spent on the phone)
- Under general supervision, analyze and resolve benefits and insurance information; ensuring reconciliation of data within company-defined deadlines, and in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Generate and analyze diverse reports and work lists in the identification and resolution of general patient account issues
- Act as a liaison by working with cross-divisional teams in the identification and resolution of outstanding issues
- Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of Insurance Verification Experience (flexible on this depending on other healthcare related experience).
  • EXPERIENCE IN MEDICAL SPECIALITIES HIGHLY PREFERRED - Oncology/Cancer Centers, Radiology, Dialysis, etc.. (These require more detailed/timely insurance verifications)
  • Knowledge in Full Scope A/R or billing and collections highly preferred
  • Experience working in a providers or doctors office environment translates well
  • Experience with Excel (sorting, filtering, updating spreadsheets)
  • Specialty Healthcare experience a plus (Renal, dialysis, OBGYN, BHT....)
  • Working knowledge of insurance regulations, including but not limited to: commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and Managed Care Plans, Replacement plans desirable
  • Detail oriented with great analytical and organizational skills
  • Personality is huge for them. Ideally they are looking for someone that is competitive, motivated, and driven to hit goals
