Manage mechanical application projects through direct communication with project managers in the divisions and corporate mechanical design personnel.Responsible for use of AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design) for drawing mechanical plans. Produce a technically accurate design set, in a timely manner that isconsistent with division requirements and construction schedules. Essential Job Functions:

• Produce appropriate and creative mechanical plans utilizing AutoCAD consistent with company objectives
• Ensure all materials are available (i.e. redlines, sketches, and written work scopes) to complete mechanical applications prior to starting a plan.
• Understand and follow redlines, rough sketches and written work scopes to produce mechanical plans.
• Prioritize, coordinate and communicate completion dates for assigned projects
• Manage projects through direct communication with project managers, store planning, and procurement.
• Recognize appropriate mechanical application options.
• Utilize traditional sources (i.e. Equipment catalogs, vendor software, websites, etc.) of information and technical data.
• Provide thorough checking of designs as completed by other refrigeration designers. (Level 6)
• Support, train, and provide guidance to others in Refrigeration Application Design group. (Level 6)
• Recognize, coordinate and apply design principles to ensure consistency across all division projects. (Level 6)
• Communicate with Construction Managers, Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Engineers and vendors to resolve engineering related issues. (Level 6)
• Assist in the development, and communication, of Refrigeration and HVAC application conventions. ( Level 6)
• Interact with Project Managers to prioritize project needs. (Level 6)
• Support Store Planning in mechanical equipment placement. (Level 6).
• Reapplication on existing design types. ( Level 6)

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Construction or Electrical Engineering
• Basic understanding of refrigeration design applications, heat transfer, and equipment function
• Thorough understanding of refrigeration design applications, heat transfer, and equipment function (Level 6)
• Ability to read and understand mechanical plans.
• Knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design)
• Proficient with Excel
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate a general understanding of mechanical planning principles, equipment function, in-store work methods, maintenance and constructionpractices, corporate design objectives and specific division requirements. (Level 5)
• Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of mechanical planning principles, equipment function, in-store work methods, maintenance and constructionpractices, corporate design objectives and specific division requirements. ( Level 6)
• Mastery level knowledge on all refrigeration design application types including retrofits. ( Level 6)
• Ability to work under minimal supervision. (Level 6)
• Ability to travel independently < 5%.

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• On the job experience with AutoCAD
• 2 years' experience in refrigeration designs
• Understand Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) fundamentals
