This role will spend time at our BTC office (11450 Grooms Road, Blue Ash OH 45242), as well as Cold Springs Lab (375 Crossroads Blvd, Cold Springs KY 41076).Roles and Responsibilities:As part of the Research Enterprise Enablement Management team, you can be part of creating the next game-changer for Kroger and Global Retail Operations, specifically focused on Scan, Bag, Go. You will work with teams internal and external to Kroger to ensure the successful development and deployment of innovative applications into the enterprise.Works with all Kroger Technology teams, other project staff and vendors to support the release and implementation of new hardware and software with full support capabilities in place (including tools, monitoring, training, and standard support procedures). Manage all development at the services layer. This team will focus on creating API based solutions to enable plug and play integration across applications. The developers will be expected to create services that can be utilized by multiple solutions, especially within the R&D space. Manage developers that will be utilized across REE projects and will provide standardized development practices and procedures. Manage the communication and reporting of all SLA metrics for each project, ensuring the highest level of support is maintained. Provide oversight to specific projects, beyond concern for support and integration. The REE Product Development Managers will champion individual projects, providing guidance, strategy insight, prioritization, escalation assistance, and in-depth collaboration from end to end. SkillsAn understanding or previous experience with developing in or managing a team of developers, preferably Java.An understanding or previous experience with Agile MethodologiesPrevious experience with managing a support organizationExperience with building API based solutionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience in creating Commercialized Software is a plus

 

Position Summary:

Direct and manage the design, development and support of multiple teams and/or their supporting processes to meet customer expectations. Support strategic direction by adapting team priorities to respond to customer and business partner needs. Essential Job Functions:
  • Administer all facets of personnel administration including hiring, performance management, resource allocation and associate development.
  • Administer all facets of budgeting, including the development and ongoing management of annual budgets; capital and expense. Plan/forecast future budgets.
  • Accountable for strategic alignment of system specifications, personnel requirements, and project schedules of Technology services.
  • Partner with Technology management teams to evaluate requirements and determine the best technical solution for initiatives.
  • Accountable for team(s) adherence to all Technology standards and procedures, including regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for systems performance and resolution of production incidents, which may require 24 hr/7 day week coverage.
  • Drive continuous organizational improvements.
  • Ensure SLA’s are defined and monitored to ensure agreements are met.
  • Accountable for regular communications to team members regarding The Kroger Co. and Technology.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Experience leading Technology initiatives.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of systems, procedures, and technology/project life cycles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to customers and to all levels within the organization
  • Direct technical experience in related disciplines.
  • Strong negotiating skills and may require experience in contract management.
  • Proven track record of delivering objectives on time and within budget.
  • A working knowledge of IT Service Management practices.
  • Solid administrative and project management skills.
Desired Previous Job Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related equivalent work experience in an Information Technology position.
  • Experience managing Technology teams, or 4 – 6 years of related professional experience.
