The Role

Supports the product department team by effectively analyzing market trends, financial figures, and other relevant data sources. Creates and distributes reports and analysis on key topics within the department and company. Produces ad-hoc and regular reporting on the product department’s metrics.

 

A day in the life

  • Supports product department through analysis of internal and external data sources. Produces reports on sales, profit, purchases, order fill, competitors, etc. Compiles and distributes data reports to appropriate parties.
  • Creates ad-hoc reports to address various product inquiries. Determines scope of reports, develops work plans, creates reports, and quality checks solutions. Reevaluates reporting and data methods and makes process improvement changes as needed.
  • Supports product department management with gross profit analysis reports (GPAR) data analysis. Creates reports and evaluates trends with historical market data.
  • Supports digital task force research projects by compiling data reports on company initiatives.
  • Prepares, audits, and reconciles monthly sales, purchase, and order fill reporting.
  • Enters data into system software and keeps data current, correct, and valid.
  • Utilizes external research studies and institutional information to support with executive-level project requests, which include a wide array of issues that affect the company and marketplace. Compiles and presents data to team.
  • Works with finance and product department management to track monthly rebate estimates. Reviews data to identify trends, and researches and resolves discrepancies.
  • Identifies data integrity issues and generate solutions to enhance overall data accuracy. Partners with business intelligence and information technology systems to report issue and get resolution.
  • Supports product managers with monthly promotional activities, such as retail sales drivers. Provides backup to product department during workload increases, such as vendor changes, promotional/pricing publications, etc. 
  • Assist with general product department projects and deliverables.

 

What you will need

  • 2+ years professional experience required; experience with data analysis, marketing, purchasing, database management, and/or general support preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft suite especially Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, and formulas).
  • Ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, manage conflict, and resolve issues.
  • Strong customer focus and orientation.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, consolidate, analyze, report, and draw conclusions from a variety of information sources is a must.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a task and desired outcome, structure work to accomplish goal, and adjust as needed to realities encountered.
  • Travels up to 10% of the time.

  • Previous knowledge of reporting systems (Cognos 8 & 10, Qlik) preferred.
  • Automotive Aftermarket experience preferred.
