Our client is seeking a Director of Estimating to join their team!

Location: Farmingdale, NY
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Directs and manages the Construction Estimating Dept. staff instilling company and industry recognized practices for Exhibit and Millwork fabrication
Directs and manages the Event Services Estimating Dept. staff instilling company and industry recognized practices for onsite service for trade shows and live events
Directs and manages the Procurement Dept. staff and shop stock room instilling company and industry recognized practices
Sets pricing policy and standards for estimating departments
Works with Procurement Manager and Event Services Manager and set policy and standards
Works closely with the procurement team and Project Managers to maintain and expand supplier, vendor, and subcontractor relationships
Works with CFO on job costing analysis and corrective actions
Creates policy and procedure for managed departments
Actively directs two managers and oversee 10 to 12 employees
Performs analysis and studies with written reports showing results
Periodically analyzes pricing policy and update as necessary and disseminate throughout the organization
Performs training sessions with staff
Assist executive team in developing and maintaining new client relationships
Investigate cost savings methods, materials, procedures
Requirements:
Requires knowledge of the Exhibit Industry, Architectural Millwork and basic Construction industries
Must possess a working knowledge of construction documentation and pricing; able to read plans and specifications and translate them into estimates.
Must be able to work directly from 3D computer renderings to develop plan of execution and pricing for trade show exhibits
Requires excellent writing, math and communications skills
Able to read and understand engineered drawings, plans, isometrics and technical specifications
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PDF creation, AutoCAD viewer and be able to quickly adapt to company estimating software
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines.
