Manufacturing Lead

SUMMARY:

Function: To directly supervise operator during the manufacturing process in order to safely and efficiently manufacture product while strictly adhering to established standard operating procedures and company policies.

Scope: Responsible for coordinating work on the manufacturing floor and reviewing operator progress throughout the shift. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating group meetings and providing training to operators. DUTIES:
  1. Assignment of work in order to effectively use labor time in order to maintain a highly efficient department.
  2. Assisting the supervisory team with scheduling manufacturing floor work.
  3. Adherence to corporate, State and Federal regulations and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or when exposed to hazardous situations. Must adhere to departmental and corporate standard operating procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  4. Assuring that operators are competently performing their jobs by monitoring their progress on their tasks.
  5. Reporting problems to the Supervisor as soon as they are understood.
  6. Record-keeping of hazardous waste manifests, inspection reports, process data and other required documentation.
  7. Assists in the preparing of reports, as directed by supervisory team
  8. Performance of other related duties related to the smooth operation as of the facility as required, including cleaning and general housekeeping.


SUPERVISION:

Directly supervises Chemical Operators during the manufacturing process. Lead is responsible for verifying the work on Chemical Operators for accuracy, completeness and compliance within established guidelines.

EDUCATION:

Operator should have a High School Diploma, G.E.D, or be a candidate for completion of either of these certifications. EXPERIENCE:

Education and Work Experience
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D,
  • 3-5 years previous manufacturing experience of demonstrated understanding of concepts related to manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • 1-2 years of lead/supervisory experience
REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:
  1. Demonstrated leadership skills.
  2. Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).
  3. Good basic math skills
  4. Have stable, verifiable work history with excellent attendance record.
  5. Be mechanically inclined.
  6. Must be comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives and organic solvents.


OTHER:

Additional tasks, as assigned related to smooth facility operations many include but are not limited to, participation on the Environmental Health and Safety Committee and actively promotion of safety and pollution prevention activities.

FURTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

You may need to be able to work overtime as directed by supervisory staff. Operator need to be able to work various shifts as directed by supervisory staff. Operator must have a reliable means of transportation to and from the work site.

Hours - Shift flexibility is a requirement. Supervisors will rotate during periods of 24/7 operation. The range of hours is listed below:

DAY 1: 6:00am to 5:00pm (1hr lunch) Sun to Wed
DAY 2: 6:00am to 5:00pm (1hr lunch) Wed to Sat
SWING 1: 5:00pm to 4:00am (1hr lunch) Sun to Wed
SWING 2: 5:00pm to 4:00am (1hr lunch) Wed to Sat

Pay Rate - $18.00 to $20.00 per hour Depending on Experience and Qualifications
