Position Summary:The Produce Fresh Cut Head Clerk is responsible for overseeing and preparing product for the Cut Fruit section of the produce department as well as stocking and merchandising product while they assist guests with selection and sales. Additionally, they track department sales, build displays and stock and maintain inventories.
Responsibilities:
1.Provides friendly and engaged guest care at all times.
2.Supervises, motivates, trains, and participates in the hiring of Fresh Cut personnel. Monitors associate performance and recommends personnel actions such as hiring, firing, layoffs, and disciplinary action.
3.Assists with writing schedules for Fresh Cut crew members in alignment with allotted hours.
4.Prepares fresh fruits and vegetables and salads for the Fresh Cut area. Ensures quality, freshness, selection, and adequate quantity to meet customer demand. Sets up, maintains, and closes the Fresh Cut area according to Company procedures.
5.Stocks, dates, and rotates Fresh Cut products while controlling shrink and costs.
6.Orders, receives, checks, and controls inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness.
7.Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as slicers, wrapping machines, mixers, pallet jacks, hand truck, knives, safety cutters, scales, and garbage disposal.
8.Complies with all food and workplace safety rules and regulations.
9.Verifies pricing accuracy and additional display signs.
10.Ensures safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, and equipment.
11.Assists guests by making product suggestions and engages in suggestive selling.
12.Responsible for rotation of merchandise and maintenance of displays ensuring our products meet our freshness guarantee at all times.
13.Store is open seven days a week and may require weekend, holiday and shift work.

Qualifications:
•Passion for serving people and creating a guest focused work environment.
•Previous supervisory experience desired.
•Math skills necessary, but not limited to calculating sales and discounts.
•Ability to work in cold/wet environment in order to clean and sanitize tools, pots/pans and utensils using cleaning chemicals and detergents without allergic reaction.
•Ability to work around food ingredients, produce and spices without allergic reaction.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with guests and associates in professional and courteous manner. This includes answering telephone calls and using in-store intercom system.
•Must be at least 18 years of age due to equipment use and work environment.
•Current state Food Handler’s Permit may be required.
