Customer (What We Believe)
- Repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment for both emergency and non-emergency situations. Perform unsupervised repairs on commercial rack refrigeration systems using appropriate troubleshooting and safety techniques
- Work effectively with a team, assisting other personnel as necessary to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers. Interact and coordinate with purchased maintenance refrigeration and HVAC vendors

Results (What We Measure)
- Determine best practices for repair work and assess downtime with store personnel
- Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including penthouse units, refrigerated cases, air doors, rooftop exhaust fans and self-contained cases
- Perform all other associated skilled tasks such sheet metal fabrication, assembly of components within the equipment
- Inspect and repairs all fans in restrooms, smoking rooms and break rooms
- Inspect building roof for cleanliness
- Inspect Freon tanks; unplug case drains and all other duties as directed
- Complete timely record keeping related to EPA related requirements for ozone depleting refrigerants. Follow up and repairs discovered leaks while also performing all mandated rechecks
- Maintain accurate inventory of store refrigerant inventories
- Create and maintain records on all equipment worked on
- Provide cost estimates for small installations, and perform the installations on time and on budget
- Maintain truck inventory, working with parts procurement requirements
- Understand and comply with food and human safety procedures while performing maintenance tasks

Work Environment
- Will be exposed to climate changes; work is performed inside freezers, near bakery ovens, and on building rooftops. May be exposed to various allergens.
- Work includes walking, standing, repetitive hand and arm movements, heavy lifting (up to 55 lbs), bending and stretching
- Work includes interaction with co-workers, store personnel, contractors and customers
- Work includes the use/operation of various power equipment and tools as well as use of Freon, oils, lubricants, etc.
- Work includes use of all necessary technical gauges and equipment required to perform tasks
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications
- 10 or more years related work experience
- Supermarket/Restaurant related refrigeration experience
- Technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent work experience
- Sound mechanical ability, as well as knowledge of welding and plumbing
- Proficient with the use of a laptop computer, possessing the ability to interface with building management systems, on board control systems, and manufacturer’s PLC based control systems
- Proficient in system startups and response to system restarts (after power outages, maintenance, etc.)
- Proficient in refrigerant leak check procedures
- PA Refrigeration license
- Knowledge of company stores
- Independent ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certified
- Demonstrated competency on lifting and rigging
- Complete knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards pertaining to the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems
- Ability to read and apply manufacturers’ instructions
- Ability to program building and refrigeration control systems
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and operate building control systems (ie: CPC-E1,E2, RMCC, Altec and Johnson)
